The team behind Dharma–Gili brings together professionals with a wealth of experience in resort design, development, sales and management. We are confident of the business model and team we have assembled and our aim is that Dharma–Gili will be the first in a growing collection of luxury eco resorts under the Dharma branding.

Principals

Daniel Collins

Daniel is a qualified member of the Hotel Catering and Institutional Managers Association and has over 20 years of experience in hotel, resort and hospitality management having worked with The Savoy Group of Hotels and Spencer House in London and with Aman Resorts in Asia.

Daniel has been based in Bali for six years, initially as a consultant manager for Downtown Villas, a sister development to the highly acclaimed Ku De Ta restaurant, before developing The Elysian a managed villa resort and member of design hotels.

ALFA Resorts & Management is currently engaged in the development and management of properties in Phuket, Vietnam, Bali, Gold Coast Australia.

Daniel will take the lead role in coordinating every aspect of Dharma-Gili as well as setting up the management and marketing operational systems.

John Brun

John has been in the “property industry” for over 15 years. Having the experience as an investor, agent and developer so understands the challenges of investing in emerging and established markets.

Prior to establishing ALFA Property Services John’s career includes leading the property sales team for Karma Resorts in Asia as well as setting up Henley International Property in Hong Kong for one of the city’s leading financial investment companies.

ALFA Property Services together with it’s sister company ALFA Resorts & Management are able to offer a total and full cycle service for institutional and private investors as well as developers. The companies currently have investment, sales and management interests in their own and third party developments in Thailand, Bali Indonesia, Australia, Vietnam and Vanuatu.

With over 10,000 clients in 15 years, John has demonstrated that he is able to meet, deliver and exceed clients expectations.

Dick Bergsama

In the late 1970s Dirk island hopped his way around the diverse islands of Indonesia and realised the ultimate way to experience these wonderful islands was aboard the traditional wooden Phinisi schooners that still ply these waters today.

In 1985 Dirk realised his ambition to convert a dual masted schooner from trading ship to carry adventure seeking tourists and Seatrek the first company to offer live aboard sailing journeys in Indonesia was created. Since those pioneering days Dirk has established Seatrek Anasia as a trusted and successful market leader.

Dirk was also the one who initially recognised the potential of Dharma-Gili as a private island resort and was directly responsible for securing the master lease on the island.

Marc Bergeron

Marc is the founder of Anasia “engineered timber construction” which is a respected specialist in the development and construction of pre fabricated timber construction buildings. The company portfolio includes prestigious luxury resorts, residences and commercial buildings including The Four Seasons and Intercontinental Resorts Bora Bora.

Marc and Dirk teamed up in 1999 and have since developed the business of both Seatrek and Anasia. For Dharma – Gili Marc and his team will be responsible for the construction and will introduce new eco materials and building methods which will be a first in the world and set new standards for environmental resort construction.

Sylvain Croise

Sylvain is the general manager and partner for Seatrek Anasia and has eighteen years of experience in the hospitality and travel industry in Asia having worked in China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and since 2000 in Indonesia working with Accor Hotels group as a general manager at various hotels throughout Indonesia.

Sylvain joined Seatrek Anasia in 2005 and is responsible for business development for the companies including the development of Dharma – Gili in association with Alfa.
